Rifle Range Improvement
Every day I try to improve my life, even in what seems to be very small ways. Complete one small project a day doesn’t sound like much but consider that means 365 projects a year creating your unique success for life.
I have learned many things in my increasingly long life and one of the most important is that the steady accumulation of even small gains over time will eventually become large and potentially life-changing in power.
Today’s small project:
Today being an unseasonably warm November day in the tepid North Woods near-winter sun, I decided to make an ad hoc shooting bench.
To do so I simply wheelbarrowed four used truck tires, the top of an old trashcan lid, and two heavy iron railroad plates to the 25-yard line of the rifle range.
The job was quick and easy. It makes for a handy bench for air rifle pellets as I can now simply reach over an pick a pellet from a tray to reload into the rifle.
Also, I can use the tire tower as a bench rest to help sight in the air rifle from a steady position.
I then went on to fire 25 rounds at the target, having to select, insert, cock, aim, and fire one at a time.
This is excellent practice and an important part of my training.
The new setup works so well I will construct another at the 40-yard line tomorrow.
Aut viam inveniam aut faciam
I will either find a way or make one
